Permanent Makeup

What is Permanent Makeup

Permanent makeup is known by many names, microblading, micro shading, cosmetic tattooing, micro pigmentation, tattoo. Whatever you choose to call it- permanent makeup is the implantation of pigments or ink into the skin. It is permanent in that you cannot wash it off and it lasts anywhere from 1-3 years.

Microblading

Microblading a a technique used for creating strokes that mimic real hair, using a hand tool.

This can be a very natural look but is not always the best for every skin type or lifestyle.

Powder brows / Microshading

This is a technique that can offer a natural look but also can be done in a manner that more closely resembles a makeup look. This can be done either by hand or with a digital machine, either way the technique embeds pigment into the skin and can be done with minimal trauma.

Lash Enhancement (Eyeliner)

We specialize in lash enhancement using a hand tool technique called softap. This implants ink along the lash line and can be done on upper and lower lids. A soft lash enhancement can give your eyes the definition you’ve been looking for without the smudging.

Lip Blush

Lip blushing is a procedure that implants ink into the lips following the natural vermillion border, this helps restore the lips to their younger fullness while adding a pop of color.

Before Your Appointment

Thank you for choosing HighBrow Designs for your permanent makeup experience. Please make sure you read the following instructions to ensure the best results for your procedure.

It is very important to refrain from all alcohol, aspirin, or aspirin products, such as blood thinners. Please refrain from Ibuprofen and Aleve for 24 hours prior to your appointment. The only product for aches and pain that will not make you bleed is Tylenol.

Also, refrain from Vitamin E and fish oil capsules for 7 days prior to your application. ALL of these make you bleed excessively. Excessive bleeding during the procedure will negatively affect the longevity of your semi-permanent makeup application. In some cases, the application will need to be prematurely stopped.

Discontinue use of any retinol or glycolic acid products a week before your procedure, these products stimulate cell turnover as well as sensitivity.

Avoid tanning or sun exposure leading up to your appointment.

Please avoid energy drinks & coffee for up to 24 hours before your appointment. Not having caffeine in your system will help you to relax much more easily, as well as help to relax the facial muscles in the areas we will be working on.

Please sign consents and review your after care instructions prior to your appointment date. Let us know if you have any questions. We look forward to seeing you soon!
